Life is short. Why not spend it doing work that matters?

Having more money is great, but what is it worth to you?

Many lives are spent chasing high-paying jobs that might give more financial security, but cause more stress, rob your personal dignity, go against major core values, or leave you asking “what am I doing with my life?”

Here’s the deal:

In order to live a simplified life, be financially secure, and have a successful career you must follow your passion. You’ve probably heard that before, but here’s where Pocket Changed’s approach is different.

Most pundits will preach that you should just get a job, save X% each year, cut coupons on the weekends, and hope for the best until you retire 40 years later. I disagree. We must find something that makes us feel alive each day.

“Time is a zero-sum game, a limited resource. Life is too short to do only what we have to do; it is barely long enough to do what we want to do.” – Tal Ben-Shahar

So, how do you build a career and life around your passion?

I’ll break it down for you in simple and actionable plans that can help improve your life, one week at a time.

Who is Caleb Wojcik?

Caleb Wojcik is the operations manager of Think Traffic and co-creator of Expert Enough & Fizzle.co. He also founded Pocket Changed, a blog for early cubicle renegades. He is also the author of The Get Paid Manifesto and creator of Make It Rain: An Aspiring Entrepreneur’s Guide to Personal Finance.

After four years of working in financial forecasting at Boeing and getting his MBA he decided to focused on what he loves to do most: help people become financially literate, create passion-based careers, and live more simplified lives. In 2010 he started Pocket Changed to do so.

Over the past few years he’s researched and developed the best ways to pay off debt, save for the future, grow income in traditional careers, and launch a location independent entrepreneurial business. Pocket Changed is where he shares those ideas.

Caleb Wojcik discusses everything involved with being an entrepreneur, online business builder, and earning a living as a blogger or mediapreneur. He sits down with successful entrepreneurs to discuss the transition to working for themselves, how they went about quitting their day jobs, what the biggest mistakes they’ve learned along the way are, and how they’re earning income these days. Topics on the blog and podcast include everything from internet business and blogging to personal finance and productivity. Whether you are a twentysomething going through a quarter-life crisis or the breadwinner of a family and hate your job, Pocket Changed will help you learn what it takes to build a successful side hustle, start doing work that matters, and build a profitable business that you are passionate about.

Caleb left his cushy corporate finance desk job in Seattle to work with Corbett Barr and go on a three-month road trip with his wife across the United States. He now lives in San Diego with his wife (where he eats his fair share of California burritos), but they travel often. You can follow him on Twitter.
